All environmentalists should rejoice, as I believe the next new wave of HR is going to be paperless HR! In the next 5-10 years if not sooner we will start to see a move to a paperless HR system leveraging LinkedIn as the resource for reviewing applicants, recommendations, etc.
Below is a quote from Kelli Huff, HR Director at Tech Y&R (SicolaMartin):
“Going paperless in HR is highly possible, even probable, with the right infrastructure. Most personnel systems are already digital, but investments will need to be made to bring all operations online. Investments in both money and time… as departments will have to alter how they work with the HR function as it moves away from traditional processes.”
That’s good news, but it means you have to update your profile more frequently and not just when you are in search for a new job to ensure you stay relevant!
